Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated Lakshadweep's inaugural on-grid solar project featuring a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Developed by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), the initiative covers the islands of Kavaratti and Agatti, (EPC) services were provided by SunSource Energy.

In the wake of the heightened demand for clean energy fuelled by net zero ambitions, economic viability and governmental impetus, India has witnessed significant strides in the renewable energy sector.
In 2016, SunSource Energy developed an on-site solar power project for us. Since we were associated with them from the start, it was obvious that we tied up with them again for a 5 MW off-site project when the Open Access Policy of UP came in 2019. SunSource Energy’s team of experts has simplified the process of the energy transition for us with their on-site and off-site solar solutions.

For an On-Site Solar project, you don’t need to invest anything to get a solar project installed at your premises. Whereas, for a group-captive off-site solar project, you’d need hold atleast 26% equity in the project.
Based on your plant load, consumption pattern, energy consumption, location of your facility, and available area in your premises, you can choose to procure power from the following set of solutions: large scale an off-site solar project, on-site solar project, Hybrid solar with storage, and energy trading.
You can track the performance of the project in real-time using our NOC portal.
There are no fees for projects for which our clients have signed a PPA with us. We also do offer our asset management services on standalone basis, for which we charge a nominal fee. A Solar project has no moving parts, and therefore requires little maintenance, which includes module cleaning every 2-4 weeks and preventive electrical maintenance every 3 months.
You can monitor the performance of your project in real-time on a mobile app. We use cutting edge technology to monitor the performance of our projects which helps us in predictive maintenance of our assets and allows us to fix anomalies – if any- in the least possible time.
In case the state in which your plant is located has a favourable net-metering policy, the access power generated from your plant can be sold back to the grid.
Before installation of a solar power project, SunSource Energy conducts tests to evaluate the strength of the roof and its capability to hold the project. Based on which, we provide recommendations and solutions to allow you to efficiently use solar power.
Installation time depends on the scale and complexity of the project. The time required for Project execution can range between 2 months to 6 months.
